About

The Blake Cottage Trust company was formed in 2014 with the purpose of acquiring the cottage, preserving it for the nation and creating a centre to celebrate the life and work of William Blake.

The Blake Cottage Trust was registered as a charity in 2015 with the objectives of "the promotion, encouragement, maintenance, improvement and advancement of education of the public in the life and works of William Blake and to equipping and maintaining his surviving homes, in particular the property located at 1 Blake's Road, Felpham."

Thanks to a generous anonymous donation the cottage was purchased in November 2015, however since then there have not been sufficient funds available to carry out necessary remedial work on the cottage.

In 2024 a new board of trustees was established whose members are focused on the urgent task of preserving the fabric of the building.  Once that has been achieved they will turn their efforts to raising the funds to realise the vision of creating a venue where admirers of William Blake, and those who are simply curious, can find inspiration in the place where he created some of his most powerful work.

The Trust is pleased to have the valuable support of a number of eminent Patrons and Ambassadors.
