31st October

Having obtained planning permission from the local council to erect a banner explaining our mission to save the cottage, it was finally put up today.  It sets out our goal and our plans to work with the local community.  It's already attracting great interest.  Big and bold, like the trust!

28th October

Eminent Blake scholars regularly support our work and we were delighted to welcome Dr Keri Davies back to the cottage where he spent many happy hours in the company of former owners, the Howell family. Keri's support is greatly appreciated and his knowledge is immense. He was joined by fellow Blake scholar Aidan Bappoo and librarian, Ted Ryan.

26th October

Ben Cooke and our Ambassasor Nick Tyson hard at work putting more securing ties in on the monoflex curtaining around the cottage to lengthen the life of the protective sheeting.

17th October

The Allen Ginsberg Project, a website celebrating the work of the poet Allen Ginsberg, has published an article highlighting our work to preserve the cottage. It's great to have support from the other side of the Atlantic. We have unearthed a photo of Ginsberg visiting the cottage in the 1970s.

9th October

The team from the World Monuments Fund, who have made an important grant donation to our restoration fund, visited the cottage today. They also held a management meeting in Felpham Village Hall.

8th October

We have had an extremely helpful visit from Daryl Holter of the Sussex Police heritage section and John Clayton, a heritage security specialist.

7th October

Arun Council's Principal  Conservation Officer, Martyn White has approved removal of some thatch to allow inspection of roof timbers and thatch and an assessment of the extent of decay and damage.

3rd October

Acclaimed artist Sher Rajah and his wife Suzie visited the cottage.
